Hôm qua (22/1), Viện Hàn lâm Khoa học và Nghệ thuật Mỹ công bố kết quả đề cử giải Oscar lần thứ 80. Hai bộ phim "đẫm máu" No Country for Old Men và There Will Be Blood đều được 8 đề cử. Cùng cạnh tranh với hai phim này ở giải Phim hay nhất là Atonement, Juno và Michael Clayton.
No Country for Old Men, được chuyển thể từ tiểu thuyết cùng tên rất ăn khách của nhà văn Cormac McCarthy, nói về những tội ác kinh hoàng của những tập đoàn buôn bán ma túy nơi biên giới, tiếp tục gây sóng gió tại giải Oscar lần thứ 80 với 8 đề cử, trong đó có hai giải quan trọng nhất: phim hay nhất và đạo diễn xuất sắc nhất.
Bộ phim cũng thuộc chủ đề "máu me" There Will Be Blood sẽ cạnh tranh quyết liệt với No Country for Old Men cũng với 8 đề cử, trong đó có các giải quan trọng như phim hay nhất, đạo diễn xuất sắc nhất, nam diễn viên chính xuất sắc nhất.
Đặc biệt diễn viên xinh đẹp Cate Blanchett đã giành được hai đề cử trong mùa Oscar 2008: Nữ diễn viên chính xuất sắc nhất trong phim Elizabeth: The Golden Age và nữ diễn viên phụ xuất sắc nhất trong phim I'm Not There.
Keira trong Atonement
Hai bộ phim Atonement và Michael Clayton đứng thứ nhì khi cùng giành được 7 đề cử. Tuy nhiên Atonement chỉ giành được 1 đề cử quan trọng là phim hay nhất, còn lại chỉ là những giải phụ. Hai diễn viên chính trong phim được mong đợi là James McAvoy và Keira Knightley đã lọt khỏi đường đua nam, nữ diễn viên chính xuất sắc nhất. Trong khi đó ngôi sao tuổi teen Saoirse Ronin được đề cử nữ diễn viên phụ xuất sắc nhất.
